Something happened to me recently. I was taking the streetcar home and saw this poster:

I’ve seen similar campaigns before, but this one really stuck with me. The idea of cows being smart and curious creatures made me think about my beloved poodle who is a smart and curious creature, I would never let a hair on his head be harmed… and then the idea of cows being forced to be pregnant all the time to produce milk: barf, barf, barf. Before even reading the entire poster I decided I was going full on vegan starting immediately.
It’s been about two weeks now and I feel really good. Without even discussing the ethics and just focusing on how I feel physically, I feel healthier, leaner and more energetic.
I haven’t had any cravings…Really…No cravings whatsoever and I’ve been eating the healthiest stuff ever.
The only obstacle that I feared was fashion related. I need new boots…can’t exactly go out and buy a pair of fur trimmed calfskin boots can I?
My idea of vegan footwear was that it is folky and leprechaun-like, worn by only the smelliest of hippies. But my research has proven me wrong, here are some seriously stylish vegan friendly fashion picks:

Red “Marlon” Bag by Matt&Nat (Probably my new go to company for all leather alternatives).

Luxury picks from Stella McCartney (Oooo, now I HAVE to buy her stuff)

And of course, the lovely TOMS (They have a vegan section on their website).
There are so many leather alternatives available without having to resort to looking like a wench from Lord of the Rings and since they’re not leather, I’ll probably save some money…which will go straight to spending on Stella McCartney ;)
Have a great day!
